On the Nice port, make sure you make it in past the front of Bistrot du Port. If it looks like nothing much, it is hiding cuisine whose reputation extends well beyond Nice itself. Since 2000, the Orsini family has been at the reigns of this restaurant that highlights fish and Mediterranean savours with José in the kitchen. Before opening this restaurant, the chef followed a remarkable path with a few years next to Alain Ducasse then on to the French Prime Minister's residence, Matignon, in the 1990s.
Sitting on the terrace to make the most of the Niçois sun, relish fresh products while watching the boats sailing to and from Corsica. On the menu, local zucchini gazpacho, crispy sweetbread or a fried calamari salad, as well as the famous fishermen's pot. To end on a sweet note, do not miss out on the delicious dark chocolate fondant!
